HOW DO WE OPERATE?
As we have said earlier, unlike any other non profit charitable organization in existence, C.H.A.R.M.E.D., Incorporated was specifically designed to ensure that at least 80% of every donation is used to help the people we are committed to serving, and not used to underwrite the salaries of those enlisted to aid in those pursuits. Furthermore, unlike any other non-profit organization, C.H.A.R.M.E.D., Incorporated is operated solely by volunteers.
Unlike any other non profit organization in existence, C.H.A.R.M.E.D., Incorporated has a very special tracking system that enables us to track every single activity that has been performed on behalf of any client and/or the corporation itself. That system is called TimeSlips. As we perform each task, each volunteer and/or employee must complete a MOBILE BILLING SLIP like that pictured below. This slip is encoded with specific "A/R" also known as an activity code that is later input into the TimeSlips system. For example, in the MOBILE BILLING SLIP located below, the code AR101 refers to REVIEW OF FILE. Each volunteer and/or employee must record the amount of time they spent working on a particular project along with their own identification/representative code.
When the MOBILE BILLING SLIPS are gathered together to be later input into the TimeSlips system, at the end of the day we can determine how much time each and every volunteer and/or employee has spent on various projects and/or client cases. More importantly the TimeSlips system enables us to show our benefactors how we have spent the money that they have so generously given to us to achieve our goals on behalf of each client. Too, at the end of the year, a similar report is given to the State of California and Internal Revenue Service to further illustrate what we have done throughout the year.
If every charity had a similar monitoring system in place, it would enable each contributor to know exactly how their dollars were being spent, AND how much of those dollars are actually reaching the people for which those dollars were intended. Isn't that the way its supposed to be?
